Workshop Location

Fortiv studio is located at 1820 Pandora st, Vancouver, BC, Canada.

There is free, non-residential parking on the side streets.

Accessibility

Unfortunately the studio is on the second floor and there is no elevator so the workshop is not able to be wheelchair accessible.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the small number of spots available, all workshop tickets are non-refundable. If you need to cancel for any reason, please email me at connect@fortiv.ca

If you are able to find someone to take your place, please contact me and we can try to arrange this.

About The Workshop

Join us for an evening workshop where I'll share techniques to embellish your own clothes to make them feel uniquely your own!

This is a one day workshop from 6-9pm
6 spots are available for each date

During this 3 hour workshop, you'lll learn appliqué, patching, and couching techniques that will allow you to add all sorts of fabrics, ribbons and threads to your clothes. 

You can bring up to 3 items of clothing you wish to embellish. This can include but is not limited to: Jeans, T shirts, button up shirts, skirts, hoodies. Please note stretchy knits or activewear it not recommended for this class.

All other fabric, supplies and notions will be provided. If you wish to bring your own fabric scissors, fabrics etc, please feel free to do so!

Light snacks and non alcoholic beverages will be provided as well :)

At the end of the workshop, you will be given a take home goody bag with needles, thread, and a small “fill your own” bag to take home some scraps of your choosing to continue embellishing your clothes at home!

Skills you’ll learn

✿ Tips for choosing your fabrics and notions for embellishment
✿ Various stitches: Running stitch, backstitch, stem stitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch
✿ How to cutout shapes for appliqué
✿ How to appliqué and add patches
✿ How to do couching using yarn and ribbons
✿ How to add ruffles
✿ How to replace buttons

Who should take this workshop?

✿ Adults 18+
✿ Skill level: beginner/ new sewer! No previous sewing experience is necessary. This workshop makes for a great beginner class to learn basic hand sewing techniques
