Hi, I'm Michelle, the founder and creator of Fortiv. I’ve been sewing since I was a kid and ever since I can remember, I’ve loved the process of making clothes. My training in fashion school and years in the industry helped grow a deep appreciation for clothing construction and pattern making, but also left me yearning for the more creative and playful side of making clothes I’d experienced so frequently in my earlier years. I began Fortiv in 2018 out of a desire to re-imagine an alternative way to create clothing, one that is grounded in a holistic, resourceful, and playful approach to fashion.

Through sewing patterns, workshops, and slow-made clothing, I hope to create a supportive and creative community that inspires us to rethink the way we create, consume, and connect to what we wear.
