Fortiv is now offering private lessons!
Want to start making your own clothes but don’t know where to begin? Have a sewing machine but intimidated to start sewing? Already a seasoned sewer but want to tackle a new project with some guidance along the way?
Private lessons through Fortiv are a way to get one on one support anywhere along your sewing journey, including at the very beginning!
Creating a friendly, open and playful environment where you can feel comfortable to ask questions and be supported along the way is my focus for these private lessons.
With 20 years sewing experience and 10 years working as a professional in clothing design, development and pattern making, I’m excited to share my knowledge with you and assist you with any of your sewing (and pattern alteration!) needs.
Please note: there are multiple time slots available, each one 3 hrs.
Before the private lesson, I will share a google form to fill out to share what your hoping to get assistance with during the lesson, that way I can prepare some materials for you:)
The studio includes an industrial sized cutting table, a sewing machine, serger, iron, and tools for marking and measuring. If you'd like to practice on your own machine/ have my help to set it up you're welcome to bring your own.
For the private lesson, you can bring a project you’d like assistance with, whether you’re just getting started, need some encouragement on, or at an area you want help constructing.
These sessions focus on construction techniques and pattern alterations for fitting commercial sewing patterns. This lesson does not include advanced pattern alterations to change the overall design, drafting new designs, or grading. If you’d like assistance in these areas or want to make sure your project is suitable for the lesson, please email me before booking.
